Today is Induba's Punya Tithi. I am going through my memory lane to remember and cherish her inspiring role in the family. She was born in a low-income family with struggle all the way until the first 30 years of her life. Her real character was her humility, simplicity, and enormous ability to love and give. The one rare quality I observed all her life that she never critiqued anyone. I remember her to accepting all- The stronger, the weaker, and love all of them equally. She had powerful, successful and eloquent siblings and inlaws. I particularly remember brilliant and intelligent brothers like Babukaka , eloquent speakers like Jayabalakaki, a businessman like Gampukaka, Smart like Harkant Fuvaji etc. She clearly earned respect from all of them in her entire life. No one could outsmart or dominated her. They all listen to her. I do not EVEN remember ONE single instance or episode where any of her siblings or inlaws' family had a conflict with her. I have never heard in the entire Valod anyone speaking anything ill about Induba. She had friends who adore and admired her .
In her children, I believe Kamaleshmama was closest to her heart . I however, have seen her spending tremendous energy in bringing family together through all the conflicts. Some of the striking observation I have about her relationship with Motamama is that mama never ever raised her voice or criticise ba. When Ba passed away, her love and attention focused consciously or unconsciously on Daxamami. I also have some memory of Ba regarding Kiritmama. When he drove past Bazzar street and sitting next to Manimami , she will follow his scooter until it disappears on other ends of the road! She stayed with us for a few weeks every year. My Ambaji ba, a smart and accomplished woman in her era, always respected her. She used to tell mummy Papa, " I will come to stay with you if you call Indaba at the same time." Both ladies talked and talked all day long and had never ever ( not once) any ill discussion or feeling. We see a very rare dynamics between two Vehvan ( or Vevan ..Unsure the spelling) in that generation or even this generation! Masi advised Ba frequently, and she always listens.
My inspiration from her is simplicity and an attitude never to criticize or speak ill about anyone. Ba and Masaji have inspired me with characteristic. The other inspiration is modesty.
As years pass some memories are clearer , motivating and help mature and grow new perspective. You are truly a huge influence to all our character. Thank you Ba !
